Spring has sprung!

Well, it was spring until I woke up today. We've reverted to chilly temps again!

I've been doing a bunch of spring cleaning and organizing to get the house ready for some cookouts and such this summer. Last year I only had 1 because of the state of the house (especially the broken patio door) and yard! This year I plan on fully utilizing and enjoying the great patio and quiet setting of our back yard! The new french patio doors look great and are actually usable, so i'll be more tempted to have dinner and relaxing nights out there.

I started all my planting this week. This year i've branched out to try some hanging planters. I have a cherry tomato seed and strawberry seed basket, and 2 tomato plants in hanging planters. We'll see how I do with these, as we all know i'm not considered a master gardener by any means! This year i'm also trying my herbs using seeds instead of plants. Just got those done yesterday. Now I just have some simple roll-out wildflowers to plant in the ground as soon as it dries out more and warms back up!

I'm most excited about my new solar lighting and fire pit. It's pretty dark around the patio, and the fire pit will be great for chilly nights and for roasting marshmallows! I'll also be setting up the table umbrella Letha loaned me since the patio gets full sun pretty much all day.

So everyone bring your beverage of choice and come hang out (and cookout) on the patio!
